Ocean
September 14, 2008 on 10:07 am | In blue, custom header, flexible width, two columns | No comments
Ocean was designed by Reality Software, a Toronto, Ontario (Canada) based design company. Nice. But, oh boy, check out that wave! Reminds us of those wonderful days on an isolated beach in Kauai, catching wave after wave … and afterwards, passionfruit and rum cocktails made with fruit gathered fresh from the jungle - laughing with friends and watching the sun set.
* Sigh *
Ocean is a variable (flexible) width theme, ideal for nautical applications, outdoor sports people, fishers, scuba schools, boats, surf shops, wind surfers, aquaculture … choose ‘ocean’ from Themeleon - our surf’s up theme shifter.
Limit
August 15, 2008 on 3:28 am | In blue, custom header, fixed width, four columns, gray, header image, simple, three columns | No comments
Limit was designed by Jai Nischal Verma. It’s a simple and elegant, lightweight theme (which means it loads quickly, not that the theme is feeble in any way), and the sidebar allows for two columns - effectively a four column design. The rounded corners and reflection at the foot of the page reduce any impression of severity. Nice. The image of the horses can be replaced with one of yours as part of the customization.
Limit is likely to appeal to people wanting clear communication - community groups, conference organisers, charitable organisations, accountants, architects, engineers, lawyers, investment brokers, insurance. Choose ‘limit’ from Themeleon - our happy theme shifter.

WordPress Default
August 2, 2008 on 2:35 am | In blue, custom header, fixed width, light, two columns, white | No comments
The default WordPress theme is based on the famous Kubrick - the theme designed and built by Michael Heilemann; the theme that launched 1,000 themes. Often themes based on Kubrick still maintain the distinctive hallmark - the lists use the double right quotes » as bullets.
The header can be edited so instead of having just the crisp nautical blue and white you can have colours (and graduated colours at that) to beat the band. The header can also be replaced with an image. Here’s one we prepared earlier - note how we used the signature » bullets. Seems almost an in-joke so we figured, sure, why not?
Kubrick is frequently used by people who really want to be clear - not quite ‘just the facts, ma’am’ because Kubrick’s graduated colours and rounded corners make for a more human approach - however the almost Scandinavian, IKEA-ish, no-nonsense design is great for conveying information. While Kubrick is the vanilla ice-cream of the web world, you can change the header and juice it up to suit. Conference organisers, community groups, charitable organisations … most any business where communicating written information is a priority. Choose ‘default’ from Themeleon - our happy theme shifter - and experience the cool crispness of Kubrick.
