Elegant Brit

September 9, 2008 on 8:42 am | In background image, blue, cool colors, fixed width, green, orange, simple, two columns, warm colors, white | 2 comments

screen shot of Elegant Brit (blue) Elegant Brit is the the Sean Connery of the theme world. Urbane, classy, looking good in every thing - classic blue, classy green, and genteel orange. What? Can orange be genteel? Well, yes, when integrated with designs by Nick.

Nick’s an architecture major from North Carolina (USA). Not only is Nick into architectural design, but he also does graphical and web designs, plays the guitar, listens to music, plays tennis and golf, and snowboards in winter. Clearly, there’s no stopping this guy. He’s been designing web sites for a few years, using Photoshop, a text editor, and the Gimp.

screen shot of Elegant Brit (green)Enough about Nick already. Let’s take a look at the themes and how they could be used…

We can see Elegant Brit (blue) bring great for nautical applications, lawyers, accountants, counselors, therapists, tailors — anyone seeking the cool, sophisticated look. Vodka martini, stirred, not shaken.

Elegant Brit (green) suggests florists, landscapers, gardeners, organics, health food, pilgrims, botanists, wildlife artists — fresh, crisp green tones - for those seeking to recreate the calmness of ‘England’s green and pleasant land’ perhaps.

screen shot of Elegant Brit (orange)Elegant Brit (orange) — the amber colours and soaring shapes seem to suggest travel guides, geologists, not-for-profits, motorsports, cars, automotive, opticians, cartographers, geographers, engineers, architects, quilters, textile designers, interior designers - people looking for a finely crafted finish.

Nick’s basic layout doesn’t change, but the alternative colour options bring a very different feel and presence to the themes. Nice work, Nick. Choose ‘elegant-brit-b’ for Elegant Brit in blue, ‘elegant-brit-g’ for Elegant Brit in green, or ‘elegant-brit-o’ for Elegant Brit in orange from Themeleon - our licensed to thrill theme shifter.

Xplosive Reloaded

August 20, 2008 on 9:27 am | In blue, fixed width, green, orange, red, three columns, warm colors | No comments

screen shot of Xplosive ReloadedXplosive Reloaded was designed by Jai Nischal Verma. It contains a very interesting and innovative concept - your visitors can pick the colors they want your information presented in - red (satin), gold (autumn), blue (aqua), or green (prairie). Try out the color-shifter for yourself - it’s a great idea. Xplosive Reloaded also takes a novel approach to prioritizing blog/news postings - only the latest is presented in full.

Xplosive Reloaded is likely to appeal to people for whom color is a priority - designers, furnishers, textile, interiors; or perhaps for people who just want to add some interactivity on their web site. Choose ‘xplosivereloaded’ from Themeleon - our happy theme shifter.

He’s found time to work on the themes while undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in field of Electronics and Telecommunication from D.J.Sanghvi College of Engineering, at the University of Mumbai.

screen shot of Fluid2 with a left hand sidebarFluid2ls builds on the basic design, with a single sidebar located on the left side of the screen. Choose ‘fluid2ls’ from Themeleon.

Kaushal’s use of dark grays, electric blue, and acid green make this a family of themes look quite vibrant, and the italic font really adds to the impression of action - things moving and changing.

The header image can be refined to suit your application, including using random images to really spark up your site. We can see this dynamic family of themes being used by educators, electricians, electronics service, environmentalists, gamers, magazine shops, outdoor sports people, photographers, street artists - for people not afraid of strong images and strong colour. We’re looking forward to white water rafting or mountain biking sites in particular.
