M

September 13, 2008 on 10:25 am | In beige, fixed width, pastel, three columns, warm colors | No comments

screen shot of MHow James Bond-y is that? A theme named ‘M’ by Aruz. This theme has seven column spaces, and more features built in, with more options than a swiss army knife. To achieve the same functionality a more mainstream theme would require substantial customisation. With M, it’s ready done, right out of the box.

M’s adaptability and soft colours suggest a theme for conference organisers, community groups, charitable organisations, educators, teachers, philatelists, cartographers, scholars, not-for-profits, churches, hospice, healers, day spas, retreats, meditation, geologists … choose ‘m’ from Themeleon - our ‘also comes with a useful tool to take stones out of horse’s hooves’ theme shifter.

Identity

September 11, 2008 on 9:38 am | In brown, cream, fixed width, gray, three columns | No comments

screen shot of IdentityIdentity is a dark colored theme fully validated for maximum readability and designed by Jai Nischal Vermaand. The charcoal-y and soft beige colors complement the cream text background. Soft and easy on the eye, while not sacrificing any readability.

Identity has a faint air of Victorian about it - Darjeeling tea, name cards, and battenburg lace - we can see this theme being used by book binders, museums, historians, cartographers, military, memorabilia collectors … choose ‘identity’ from Themeleon - our ‘lemon and a dash of sugar’ theme shifter.

Elegant Brit

September 9, 2008 on 8:42 am | In background image, blue, cool colors, fixed width, green, orange, simple, two columns, warm colors, white | 2 comments

screen shot of Elegant Brit (blue) Elegant Brit is the the Sean Connery of the theme world. Urbane, classy, looking good in every thing - classic blue, classy green, and genteel orange. What? Can orange be genteel? Well, yes, when integrated with designs by Nick.

Nick’s an architecture major from North Carolina (USA). Not only is Nick into architectural design, but he also does graphical and web designs, plays the guitar, listens to music, plays tennis and golf, and snowboards in winter. Clearly, there’s no stopping this guy. He’s been designing web sites for a few years, using Photoshop, a text editor, and the Gimp.

screen shot of Elegant Brit (green)Enough about Nick already. Let’s take a look at the themes and how they could be used…

We can see Elegant Brit (blue) bring great for nautical applications, lawyers, accountants, counselors, therapists, tailors — anyone seeking the cool, sophisticated look. Vodka martini, stirred, not shaken.

Elegant Brit (green) suggests florists, landscapers, gardeners, organics, health food, pilgrims, botanists, wildlife artists — fresh, crisp green tones - for those seeking to recreate the calmness of ‘England’s green and pleasant land’ perhaps.

screen shot of Elegant Brit (orange)Elegant Brit (orange) — the amber colours and soaring shapes seem to suggest travel guides, geologists, not-for-profits, motorsports, cars, automotive, opticians, cartographers, geographers, engineers, architects, quilters, textile designers, interior designers - people looking for a finely crafted finish.

Nick’s basic layout doesn’t change, but the alternative colour options bring a very different feel and presence to the themes. Nice work, Nick. Choose ‘elegant-brit-b’ for Elegant Brit in blue, ‘elegant-brit-g’ for Elegant Brit in green, or ‘elegant-brit-o’ for Elegant Brit in orange from Themeleon - our licensed to thrill theme shifter.

Zip It

August 29, 2008 on 7:10 pm | In gray, light, three columns, two columns, white, yellow | No comments

screen shot of Zip ItZip It is another theme by the prolific designer, Small Potato.

The delicious buttery yellow reminds us of all those old National Geographics stacked up in attics and garages across the world. Tidy, but never bland, and with a clarity of the type usually reserved for better quality magzines. Zip It, we love it.

We’re thinking apairists, cartographers, conference organisers, geographers, magazine shops, photographers, travelers, wildlife artists … choose ‘zip-it’ from Themeleon - our zippy theme shifter.

Minimal Green

August 19, 2008 on 9:05 am | In fixed width, green, simple, two columns, white | No comments

screen shot of Minimal GreenMinimal Green is another fine theme released by Kaushal Sheth. Kaushal is based in Mumbai, India. He’s found time to work on the themes while undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in field of Electronics and Telecommunication from D.J.Sanghvi College of Engineering, at the University of Mumbai.

Minimal Green is indeed minimal, however we think its elegant and clean lines has a wide appeal for people with powerful messages - people who don’t want the theme to stand in the way of the message. Choose ‘minimal-green’ from Themeleon - our chlorophyll-ed theme shifter.

screen shot of jd-desert-3cAvailable in two or three columns, John Doe’s desert theme makes use of an image of desert. We can’t decide if it’s the Sahara, the Gobi, or the Sahel - no matter, the dunes look amazing. It is said that no-one crosses the desert and remains unchanged…

As with many of John’s themes, they are available as two and three columns - your choice - whatever works best for you.
